Shipping

Important information about how this part of the Inner Nerd website works.

📦 Domestic Shipping

Inner Nerd ships to all 50 U.S. states, U.S. protectorates, APO/FPO addresses, and PO Boxes (subject to change at any time).


Shipping Methods

We offer the following domestic carriers:

  • FedEx

  • UPS

  • USPS

Each carrier offers multiple service levels, including standard and expedited options.
Some methods specify the carrier used; others may ship via any available carrier depending on package size, weight, or destination.
If a method allows multiple carriers, specific carrier requests cannot be accommodated.

Note: Expedited shipping options are generally not available for pre-order products.

All available methods, including prices and estimated delivery dates, are shown during checkout.


Shipping Fees

Shipping fees are based on actual weight or dimensional weight, which reflects how much space a package occupies on a truck or aircraft.

In-Stock Items

The shipping fees shown at checkout for in-stock items are the actual rates you will pay.
Some oversized or unusually heavy items may require a custom shipping quote. This may or may not be noted in the product description.

Pre-Order Items

Shipping fees for pre-orders are estimates.
Final costs may differ once actual product dimensions/weight are known.
If ordering multiple pre-order items, the checkout display will show the base fee and per-pound rate used for calculations, but we cannot guarantee which items will ship together.


Delivery Estimates

Each shipping method displays an estimated delivery date or date range.
For pre-orders, the estimate reflects the time after the item arrives at our facility.

Under normal circumstances, these estimates are accurate approximately 99% of the time, but delays can occur due to:

  • Remote delivery locations

  • Weather

  • Natural disasters

  • Carrier service interruptions

  • Other unexpected events

If your package seems delayed, please check tracking for the most current information.


Guaranteed Delivery Services

Some one-day and two-day services offer a carrier-backed delivery guarantee. To qualify:

  • A guaranteed method must be selected

  • The order must be placed and paid before the cutoff time

  • The payment must not trigger fraud-prevention delays

  • An attempted delivery or valid appointment request before the guaranteed date meets the guarantee

  • No carrier-defined service disruptions must occur

If you believe your guaranteed shipment is late, please contact us within 5 days of delivery.


Freight Shipping

Certain oversized items may require freight shipping.
If so, it will be noted on the product page.
When the item is ready to ship, we will contact you with the actual freight cost.
Most freight shipments can only be delivered to street addresses within the contiguous U.S.


🌍 International Shipping

Inner Nerd offers international shipping on a case-by-case basis, depending on:

  • Transaction legitimacy

  • Fraud risk

  • Customer satisfaction safeguards

  • Additional internal risk assessments

We reserve the right to approve or decline international shipments at our discretion.


International Shipping Methods

Current available methods include:

  • Air Mail

  • Express Mail

  • FedEx

Some methods use specific carriers; others may use multiple carriers depending on destination and package type.
Carrier selection cannot be requested when multiple options are possible.

All available options, rates, and delivery estimates are shown during checkout.


International Shipping Fees

Fees are based on actual or dimensional weight.

In-Stock Items

The rates shown at checkout are the actual rates.
These do not include taxes, duties, or customs fees charged by the destination country.

Some oversized items may require a custom shipping quote; this will be noted on the product page.

Pre-Order Items

Pre-order shipping fees are estimates, as product dimensions may not be finalized at listing.


Delivery Estimates

Delivery times vary by method and are influenced by:

  • Customs clearance

  • Local postal efficiency

  • Carrier reliability

  • Country-specific processing delays

Postal services may take significantly longer than stated estimates.
FedEx and similar carriers usually offer more consistent transit times.


Buyer’s Risk Shipping Methods

Some shipping methods are marked as Buyer’s Risk, meaning:

  • No tracking may be available

  • Lost or damaged packages are not eligible for refunds or replacements

  • Responsibility transfers to the customer once the package leaves our facility

You must explicitly confirm acceptance of these terms during checkout.


Freight Forwarders

Using a freight forwarder—including friends/family in the U.S.—comes with the following conditions:

  • Our responsibility ends once the package is delivered to the U.S. address

  • No returns or replacements are offered after the package leaves that address

  • The recipient becomes the exporter, responsible for all export/import regulations

  • Inner Nerd must not be listed on any export documentation


Importation Policies

The recipient is the importer of record and must comply with all destination-country laws.

Import Duties, Taxes & Fees

Orders may be subject to VAT, GST, duties, customs fees, and other charges.
These are not included in product or shipping costs and must be paid by the recipient.

Policies vary widely; please consult your local customs office.

Customs Clearance

Shipments may be opened, inspected, and repacked by customs authorities.
We cannot control or guarantee the condition of repacked items.
If customs seizes or disposes of your package for any reason (including unpaid fees), no refunds will be issued.


Product Restrictions

Some products cannot be shipped to certain countries due to:

  • Licensing agreements

  • Size limitations

  • Local laws or import bans (e.g., replicas, collectibles, or batteries)

If a restricted item is identified before shipping, we will cancel and refund that portion of the order.


International Limitations

International orders may have the following limitations:

  • Manufacturer warranties may not be valid

  • Manuals may not be in your local language

  • Voltage or electrical standards may be incompatible

  • Manufacturer support may be unavailable


↩️ Returns & Exchanges

Unopened Items

Unopened, unused items in their original condition and packaging may be eligible for return unless otherwise noted on the product page.
Receipt or proof of purchase is required.


Opened Items

Opened items cannot be returned, including:

  • Packaging that has been opened or tampered with

  • Items removed from packaging

  • Unsealed cases or collectibles


Clothing & Apparel

Used, worn, or tried-on clothing, costumes, or accessories are not eligible for returns.


Damaged or Defective Items

Please inspect your order upon arrival.
Contact us immediately if your item is:

  • Defective

  • Damaged

  • Incorrect

We may request photos to help identify the issue and determine whether a replacement or part replacement is appropriate.
If the item is no longer available, a refund or store credit may be issued.

Does NOT qualify as defective:

  • Minor cosmetic paint variations

  • Packaging condition (unless explicitly stated otherwise)


Exceptions / Non-Returnable Items

We cannot accept returns for:

  • Custom-made or personalized products

  • Gift cards

  • Sale items


Return Process

To begin a return, email us at support@innernerd.com.
Items sent back without approval will not be accepted.


Return Shipping – Domestic

  • If the return is due to our error or defective merchandise, we will provide a prepaid return label.

  • If you choose your own carrier instead, you are responsible for all shipping costs and risk.

  • For any other type of return, shipping costs are the responsibility of the customer.


Return Shipping – International

  • If the return is due to our error or defective merchandise, we will issue store credit equal to a reasonable return shipping cost.

  • You are responsible for shipping the item back.

  • For all other returns, international customers are responsible for all return shipping costs.


Packaging Guidelines for Returns

Please pack returns securely:

  • Use a properly sized shipping box

  • Add bubble wrap or padding

  • Do not place labels directly on product packaging

Damaged or poorly packed returns may result in partial or denied refunds.


Exchanges

To exchange an item, please submit a return request for the original item.
Once approved, you may purchase the new item separately.
